It started when I have been having problem in finding skincare products for my dehydrated skin with whiteheads. No products seem to be able to satisfy my skin. They're either too oily + sticky or too dry.
One day, it started off with a conversation with a friend who applied food grade grapeseed oil / olive oil on her face and I thought, why not? Within a week into applying it, my skin had brightened up and my whiteheads were reduced. Amazing!
However, it still did not hydrate my dehydrated skin. From there, I have resorted into getting a diploma in natural skincare to start making my hydrating products and refined my formulas for the facial oil. My concept of choosing ingredients are the bold basic ingredients that can be found in the kitchen and garden which have amazing benefits on our skin.
OUR CONCEPT
How we approach our products
It is the idea of providing bold basic natural ingredients for our skin inspired by skin loving plant that we can find in our everyday life.
We would never second doubt DIY skincare from pure fresh ingredients. However, the time, effort and quantity of fresh ingredients used for the amount of skincare needed for one application is not proportionate. And the worst? Is to store the left over product that has a very short live span. Here comes the decision to store or to throw.
At Boldly Basics we formulate our products with raw ingredients that are able to last longer as they come in the form of hydrosol, botanical extracts, essential oil, cold pressed oil, CO2 extracts etc.
On top of that we are committed to clean beauty products too! No harmful ingredient is used, even we keep emulsifier/ solubiliser at bay to stay as basic as possible.
